FAQ

  • What is RSS?
    • Short for Really Simple Syndication (some prefer Rich Site Summary), RSS is a lightweight XML-based technology for sharing Web content. E! Online currently uses RSS version 2.0 and offers several RSS feeds, each of which contains a headline, a short news summary and a link back to E! Online for the full story. RSS feeds are free.
  • How do I use RSS?
    • To use RSS, you will need an RSS news reader or aggregator. There are a number of different news readers, many of which are available for free. Most news readers are freestanding applications that you download and install, while others are Web-based services that work with your browser.

After installing the RSS news reader, you can add each feed manually by clicking on the orange "XML" button next to the type of news you want. Follow the directions for your specific news reader on how to add feeds.
  • How do I listen to a podcast?
    • Podcasts are audio programs delivered as MP3 files, regularly updated through RSS feeds. To subscribe and listen to a podcast, you'll need an RSS reader or podcasting player, such as iTunes, iPodder or any number of others. To subscribe, copy the link into your program of choice.
  • What kind of news content does E! Online syndicate via RSS?
    • E! Online offers the following feeds: latest news, movies, TV, music and celebrities. Noncommercial use of the news feeds is permitted free of charge for individuals or nonprofit organizations. Attribution (included in each feed) is required.
  • What are the terms of use?
    • The feeds are provided free of charge for use by individuals and nonprofit organizations for personal use in a news reader or as part of a noncommercial Website or blog. E! Online requires proper format and attribution whenever E! Online content is posted on your Website. Please read the E! Online RSS terms and conditions for complete instructions.

If you provide this attribution in text, you must use: E! Online. If you provide this attribution with a graphic, you must use the E! Online logo that is included in the feed itself. E! Online reserves all rights in and to the E! Online logo, and your right to use the E! Online logo is limited to providing attribution in connection with these RSS feeds.

E! Online is also including the provider of each individual news story in the feed alongside each headline. Please do not alter this for display.

E! Online also reserves the right to require you to cease distributing these feeds at any time for any reason.

  • When I Tried to Participate, My Handset Said, "Message Not Sent." Why?

  • How Long Is the Sweepstakes Open?
    • Sweepstakes entry periods vary, so please refer to the rules for each sweepstakes at www.eonline.com/sweepstakes for full details. If your query is not related to the sweepstakes, it will not be answered. We endeavor to answer as many queries as possible but does not guarantee responses for all.
  • What Happens After I Have Sent the Voting Keyword to the Displayed Short Code?
    • Any text message received during the valid open time may prompt a confirmation message back to you. However, sometimes there are delays on the network, and it can take several hours to receive a confirmation back.
  • What If I Do Not Receive a Confirmation Message?
    • If you are sure you sent the correct voting keyword, it could be that your text message is delayed at the network.
