Tinseltown's European Vacation
As our country takes time out today—in between scarfing down hot dogs and dips in the pool—to remember its independence from England, we thought we'd take a look at some of the celebrities who have been spending their free time overseas.
Un-American, you say? Au contraire! When it comes to representing the red, white and blue, famous folks are often the perfect ambassadors...
Sightings: Chloe, Charlize and Ellen Pompeo
GARDEN VARIETY: Chloë Sevigny, carrying a Donna Karan Modern Leo Tote bag while picking up flowers at a grocery store in L.A.
BAND OF BROTHERS: Madonna and Guy Ritchie's sons, Rocco and David, bowling at Bowlmor Lanes in Union Square in NYC. (No, they weren't alone! A nanny and bodyguard were in tow.)
WATER WORKS: Colin Farrell, hanging poolside at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
French Have Fun With Brangelina
Who said the French don’t have a sense of humor? Well, OK, we have. Repeatedly. But it turns out we were wrong.
A due-any-minute woman staying in the same Nice hospital as Angelina Jolie flashed her belly to paparazzi through a suite window. She no doubt meant it as a joke—“Any pregnant belly will do, oui?”
But the joke’s on the media for giving the French woman’s unborn fetus his/her 15 minutes of fame. How drôle. (No word on whether the man next to her is Jerry Lewis.)
Sightings: Knight, Depp and Damon
PURCHASING POWER: T.R. Knight, shopping with boyfriend Mark Cornelsen in his Los Angeles neighborhood a couple of days after doing the same at a nearby Target.
PLEASED TO MEAT YOU: Johnny Depp, having dinner at in the private dinning room at Gibson's Steakhouse in Chicago.
Suri: Cruising With Cash?
She must be taking a cue from mommy's movie Mad Money, because for Suri Cruise, it's all about the Benjamins!
Or is it?
Tori vs. Paris: Who Rocks This Look?
Blond hair? Check. Gypsy 05 maxi dress? Check. Oversize white sunglasses that make her look like the love child of Elvis and a tzetze fly? Check.
With so much going for her, why doesn’t Tori Spelling look exactly like Paris Hilton?
She missed one key ingredient: self-inflicted spray-tan gun wounds. Better luck next time, Tori.
Madonna Dines With Her Guy
This should finally get people to shut up...right?
Determined to further squelch the incessant rumors that their marriage is on the skids, Madonna and her filmmaker hubby, Guy Ritchie, were seen stepping out Tuesday night—hand in hand, of course—for a photo op dinner at 'Cesca, an Italian restaurant in the Big Apple.
What do you think? Is everything peachy-keen here, or does the "4 Minutes" singer have only about that much time left in this marriage?
Ashlee Growing; Pete Kissing & Telling
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz looked radiant as she openly displayed her ever-enlarging baby bump during a shopping excursion this past weekend. But it seems the mom-to-be isn't the only one who's being so forthcoming.
Hubby Pete Wentz reveals in the new issue of Out magazine that he has, in fact, puckered up in the past with members of the same team—but points out that "when I said that I made out with dudes, there was a slight sense of sexual rebellion in that."
The Fall Out Boy frontman adds, however, that he's "always felt this relentless heterosexual drive."
All of which explains the aforementioned baby bump...and the guyliner.
Ryan Phillippe: Fashionably Peaceful
We don't really know if Ryan Phillippe is the type to wear his heart on his sleeve, but the actor obviously likes to wear his desire for peace on his T-shirt.
Phillippe was spotted sporting the symbol while rug shopping in Hollywood Monday with his (now very public) squeeze and Stop-Loss costar, Abbie Cornish.
Unfortunately, the two-fingered gesture didn't extend to the paparazzi trailing the couple. "Go to hell," was the special message the actor had for the shutterbugs.
But by and large, Ryan's certainly not the only celeb who has been known to give peace a chance. Check out who else is letting their fingers do the talking in our Peace Offerings gallery!
Who's the Celebrity Pooper Scooper?
Celebrities aren't generally known for picking up after themselves, let alone their animals, so we have to tip our hats to this poop-scooping star who made a point of cleaning up after his dog—thereby keeping the streets of New York City clean and giving his boldfaced bretheren a good name, at least for the time being.
So just who is this considerate actor?
Update
Jerry O'Connell: The New Star of Nip/Tuck?
We're not quite sure why Jerry O'Connell is being so shy here. After all, we've been amazed by his masculine physique ever since he lost the Stand by Me baby fat all those years ago.
And, seriously, how much of a complex can you really have when you're married to the stunning Rebecca Romijn? Actually, scratch that.
In any event, you found this picture as amusing as we did, and it was tough to pick a winner out of these entries. But Amy edged to the top by being both funny and concise enough to fit in a headline. Thanks to all who participated and now let's get a look at some of the excellent runners-up:
Sightings: Beckinsale, Theron and Cotillard
ICE, ICE BABIES: Kate Beckinsale, along with hubby Len Wiseman and her daughter, ice-skating at an indoor rink in Los Angeles with Victoria Beckham and her sons.
FAMILY NIGHT: Charlize Theron and her mom, having dinner at Dakota at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
