Miley Cyrus: "Coolest. Person. Ev-er!"
If only every 15-year-old could have Miley Cyrus' self-esteem.
"Coolest. Person. Ev-er!" she joked to People in a recent interview when asked how she would describe herself.
Then, upon reflection, she replied, "I think I'm chill. I am very hyper but I'm very carefree."
Aside from her calm and collected side, Cyrus also reveals a few of her oh-so-teenage proclivities, such as her desire for a new car when she turns 16, her big crush on the coolest handbags and her beauty regimen—mascara and a suntan.
Ah, to still be years away from voting age.

Christina Applegate Mourns Former Beau's Death
Some very sad news for Christina Applegate.
E! News has confirmed that an investigation is under way into the circumstances surrounding the death of 26-year-old Lee Grivas, an aspiring photographer who had been dating the Samantha Who? star off and on for more than two years.
"I am profoundly saddened," Applegate said in a statement to E! News.
"Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life. He is missed beyond words. He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, brother and all of his family and friends."
Emmy Still Laughing at Jenna, Vanessa, But Jaime's Name Is Mud
This is shaping up to be not much of a year for Emmy repeats (unless James Spader runs away with it again).
My Name Is Earl star Jaime Pressly, who was named Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy in 2007, has been left off the shortlist of female laugh-inducers who stand a chance of hearing their names announced July 17, when the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences reveals all the nominees for the 59th Prime-Time Emmy Awards.
Meanwhile, the competition Pressly beat out last year has made the cut, according to another top-secret list obtained by the L.A. Times' Gold Derby blog.

Jennifer Aniston Rides the John Mayer Express
Jennifer Aniston has resorted to taking the bus these days, and it has nothing to do with the summer's sky-high gas prices.
E! News has learned that actress is not just attending boyfriend John Mayer's concerts. She's gone groupie, joining him on his tour bus.
Mayer kicked off the U.S. leg of his summer road show Wednesday night, with Aniston by his side backstage. The couple arrived together at the 2008 Milwaukee Summerfest at the Marcus Amphitheater on his rig.

"Shattered" Brinkley Takes Stand in Divorce Trial
Dealing with the fallout of her husband's betrayal didn't feel like a death to just Christie Brinkley, it felt like one to her friends, too.
The erstwhile cover girl took the stand during the second day of testimony in her public divorce trial from philandering architect Peter Cook Thursday, testifying as to her confrontation with Cook and subsequent reaction after learning of his affair with an 18-year-old staffer.
"I just said to Peter, 'How could you?' " she said on the stand, making her testimony all the more poignant by choosing that moment to look at Cook head-on for the first time in the two-day trial.

Kravitz Joins Madonna in Ramming A-Rod Rumors
What a tangled web we weave when first we talk about Madonna's men.
While the Queen of Pop, fresh off a happy and photo op-ready reunion with hubby Guy Ritchie, already took pains to disavow anything more than a platonic relationship between herself and Yankee star Alex Rodriguez, a blast from Madge's past is joining in the denial act, this time concerning a rumored relationship with Rodriguez's suddenly estranged wife.
"There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and myself," Lenny Kravitz said in a statement today. "This is unequivocally 100 percent not true."

Lindsay's B-day Goal: Happy, Healthy, Rihanna-y Year
Lindsay Lohan's private life has gone through some rather public growing pains over the past few years. And now, newly 22 years of age, the only growing she wants to do in public is of the professional variety.
Speaking to E! News anchor Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show this morning, hours after her prom-themed birthday bash, Lohan discussed her plans for the year ahead which, she said, could be summed up in two words: "focusing and working."
"I just wanna live a happy, healthy year, and continue on the path that I've been on. And, you know, be with the person that I care about, and my family, and I think that's it."

Happy Birthday, Lindsay!

Emmy Passes Up Britney for... Actresses
Ted and Barney weren't the only ones to give Abby the receptionist the brushoff.
Britney Spears' hyped two-episode appearance on How I Met Your Mother didn't catch the eye of Emmy voters, who left her off their list of semifinalists for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, per the latest round of Emmy scoopage from the L.A. Times' Gold Derby blog.
Spears shouldn't feel too snubbed, though—fellow twentysomething Mary-Kate Olsen, who played a pot-dealing proselytizer on Weeds, didn't make the cut, either. And she's been acting all her life!
But this year, only two under-40 thesps made the first cut, the relative young'uns being Sarah Silverman, who could be a two-time Emmy nominee thanks to her turn as a psycho fan on Monk, and Oscar nominee Amy Ryan, who made quite the impression as the Michael-liking "new Toby" on The Office.
Brinkley Case Turns to Porn, Hush Money
Christie Brinkley wanted her divorce trial to be open to the public to ensure nothing was kept private. She should be careful what she wishes for.
Neither Brinkley's attorneys nor estranged hubby Peter Cook left any sordid stone unturned when the confessed philanderer testified as the case's first witness today.
Chief among the revelations from the 49-year-old architect's testimony was the admission that after sleeping with his then-18-year-old employee Diana Bianchi for the first time—in his office, no less—he paid her $300,000 in hopes she would keep their affair under wraps.
Money not that well spent, as it turns out.

Doc: Brangelina Won't Burst for Weeks
Disclaimer: The press conference is in French sans subtitles
so you'll have to take our word on the translation.
Angelina Jolie's doctor just threw a bucket of cold water on the global Brangelina babywatch.
"Angelina's pregnancy has gone very well so far, and she has absolutely no problems at all," obstetrician Dr. Michel Sussmann told E! News, before delivering the blow.
"But she still has at least two or three weeks to go until she gives birth, and she'll most certainly be staying in the hospital until after she gives birth."
Maybe Dustin Hoffman's previously believed red herring due date of Aug. 19 wasn't so far-fetched after all.
